A Nanny is a professional qualified in Early Childhood Development and may have worked in Centre Based Child care or as a Nanny previously. All Nannies registered with Night Nannies Nanny Agency must have a criminal record check, First Aid Certificate, minimum of 2 years full time experience working in Child Care, reference checking and an interview.
A Nanny generally works an 8-10 hour day between 8am and 6pm as little as one day per week to 5 full days per week live out or live in providing full duties such as:
- Meal preparation
- Educational activities
- Dressing and bathing of the children
- Attending external activities as required
- Toileting and Nappy changes
- Tidying up of general areas of the home relevant to the Children
- Children’s washing
- Nursery duties such as maintaining the Children’s areas and rooms
- Day to day care of the children
- Grocery shopping
The benefits of a Nanny over Child care are huge in that the children are in a smaller group environment; they are actually in their own home. The children will be healthier as they will not be subjected to constant illness and hygiene issues. Children have the benefits of one on one care where they get more immediate attention and focus on their development. The children have the option of being able to attend regular external activities such as music, kindy gym, dancing and craft classes.
Parents have the benefit that most of the household duties are already completed for them before they get home and they can get that all important quality time to spend with their children from the minute they get home.
There are also Nanny Housekeepers who are happy to work as a regular Nanny and maintain the general upkeep of the house along with general household duties such as family washing, grocery shopping and light cleaning.
We have nannies in all the major capitals including Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne as well as some regional towns.
